Tips on proper care and use of the battery
Always use the correct size and type of battery specified by the device manufacturer.
Keep the battery contact surfaces and battery compartment contacts clean by wiping them with a pencil eraser or rough cloth each time you replace the batteries. Remove the batteries from the device when you do not plan to use it for several months and when it is powered by household power (AC). Make sure you insert the batteries into your device correctly, with the + (plus) and - (minus) terminals correctly aligned. CAUTION: Some equipment that uses more than three batteries may appear to function correctly even when one battery is not inserted correctly. Extreme temperatures reduce battery performance. Store the batteries in a dry place at room temperature. Do not refrigerate the batteries as this will not make them last longer, and avoid placing battery-powered devices in very hot places. Do not try to recharge a battery unless it is a battery specifically designated as “rechargeable”. Some dead batteries and batteries exposed to extremely high temperatures can leak. A crystalline structure may form outside the battery.
